Tight, Warm Addition

This sunroom/mudroom addition has a super-tight shell and plenty of ventilation behind the shingle siding to keep the walls dry and warm. We are re-using the original divided light picture window, and an applied stone facing on the foundation to match the original house.

Falmouth Waterfront

The tight insulation has helped as we try to keep warm through this tough late winter. Currently, the radiant concrete floor is being ground and polished in preparation for finishing. Drywall goes up next.

Renovation Meets Conservation

This historic warehouse on the edge of Portland's Old Port is now a showcase for advanced building and design.  UPDATE - the residential portion of the building has recently been certified Platinum (the highest rating) by the US Green Building Council's LEED for Homes program.

Sunroom Addition

This sunroom/addition involved a high degree of cooperation and teamwork among our crew, the clients and the architect (our friend Bruce Butler of By Design). Completed sunroom

To save the significant expense of a foundation, we built on piers and used what we've learned about insulation and air sealing to create a warm, bright room. The owners had a solar hot water system installed with our assistance, and we worked together to create a warm interior, even integrating some opaque circuit boards from one of the homeowners' career as an electrical engineer.  Take a panoramic tour of the interior here .
